When God Removes to Refocus You
Times Of Refreshing Daily Devotional
Date: Wednesday, 25 March 2026
Topic: When God Removes Things You Wanted (4)
Focus: When God Removes to Refocus You
🔥Theme:
It is easy to trust God when He gives. It is harder to trust Him when He removes. Sometimes God takes away opportunities, relationships, plans, or seasons we deeply desired. In those moments, confusion and pain can arise. Yet Scripture reveals that God’s removals are never random. What He removes, He replaces with purpose. What He takes away, He often uses to protect, refine, or redirect.
This series explores how to trust God when He removes what you wanted—and how to discover that His plans are still good, even in loss.
📖 Key Verse:
“The Lord gave and the Lord has taken away; may the name of the Lord be praised.” — Job 1:21
Devotional:
Sometimes God removes things not because they are bad—but because they are distracting. We can become focused on what we want, what we’re building, or what we’re pursuing, and slowly our attention shifts away from God’s voice. In those moments, God may remove something to bring our focus back to Him. Distractions are not always obvious. They can be good things that gradually take the place of what matters most. When God removes them, it can feel uncomfortable—but it creates space for clarity.
📖 Scripture Reading:
- Matthew 6:33 — Seek God first
- Hebrews 12:1–2 — Fix your eyes on Jesus
- Psalm 16:8 — Keeping the Lord before you
💧 Refreshing for the Day:
So, beloved, God is not trying to take from you—He is trying to realign you. Refocus often comes through removal. Clarity often comes after letting go. When your focus returns to God, direction becomes clearer and peace follows. God removes distractions to restore direction. Stay Refreshed!
