UNLESS THE LORD HELPS A MAN

We spend so much time worrying and pestering and trying to fix things only God can fix. And when we the results are not forthcoming, we are discouraged and so frustrated. But here is the truth: unless the Lord helps a man, he can never help himself. It’s only by God’s grace that we can overcome our weaknesses and become more like Him. No wonder the apostle Paul realized this truth, he knew he could do nothing without God’s help, and he declared thus,
SCRIPTURE: I do not understand what I do. For what I want to do I do not do, but what I hate I do… For I know that good itself does not dwell in me, that is, in my sinful nature. For I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out. (Rom 7:15,18 NIV)
REFRESHING FOR THE DAY: So, beloved, maybe you’re in the same place. You want to break a bad habit or change your behavior in some way, but you are frustrated and discouraged by a lack of progress. Here’s the good news: God never intended for you to do it alone. In fact, there’s nothing worse than trying to do something only God can do! So, I counsel you, stop struggling to change yourself. Run to God for help, receive His grace and make a firm decision to walk in the same grace. Stay Refreshed!
NOTE THIS: Unless the Lord helps a man, such a man can never help himself.
RESPONSIBILITY: So, run to God for help, and receive the grace for effective change.
PRAYER: O LORD, help my life and give me your grace for effective change, in Jesus’ name, Amen! (Go ahead and pray for other intentions as the Spirit leads)
PROPHETIC WORD: May the Lord help you and change your life for the best, in the name of Jesus’ Amen!
