TRUSTING IN GOD’S PROVISION (3)
TIMES OF REFRESHING DAILY DEVOTIONAL www.thefountspring.org
DATE: FRIDAY, 3 MAY 2024
Once again beloved, another foundational principle you must get right in trusting in God’s provision is “Surrendering your worries and letting go of anxiety.” Letting go of anxiety is a journey that involves deepening our trust in God’s provision and care for us. It’s recognizing that worry often stems from a lack of faith in God’s ability to meet our needs and sustain us through life’s challenges. In Matthew 6:27, Jesus poses a rhetorical question that cuts to the heart of our anxious thoughts; He asked,
SCRIPTURE: “Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?” – Matthew 6:27 (NIV)
REFRESHING FOR THE DAY: So, reflecting on this question brings to light the futility of worry. It becomes so obvious that there is no amount of anxiety can change the circumstances of tomorrow or add anything of substance to our lives. Instead, worry drains us of joy, peace, and productivity, leaving us trapped in a cycle of fear and doubt. Stay Refreshed!
NOTE THIS: Trusting in God’s provision doesn’t mean that we won’t face difficulties or challenges. It means that we can face them with confidence, knowing that God is with us every step of the way.
RESPONSIBILITY: So let us heed Jesus’ words and let go of anxiety. Instead, let us place our trust in God, knowing that He holds our lives in His hands and cares for us deeply.
PRAYER: Heavenly Father, in the midst of life’s uncertainties and challenges, we often find ourselves consumed by anxiety and worry. Please give us the strength to let go of anxiety and to place our trust fully in You. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
PROPHETIC WORD: As we surrender our worries to Jesus, may we experience His peace that surpasses all understanding and His provision that knows no bounds. In the name of Jesus, Amen!
