TRUSTING IN GOD’S PROVISION (2)
TIMES OF REFRESHING DAILY DEVOTIONAL www.thefountspring.org
DATE: THURSDAY, 2 MAY 2024
So, one key principle in trusting God’s provision is seeking His kingdom above all else. Seeking God’s kingdom first is a foundational value in the Christian faith. It’s about prioritizing God and His purposes above all else in our lives. In Matthew 6:33, Jesus instructs us to do just that:
SCRIPTURE: “But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.” – Matthew 6:33 (NIV)
REFRESHING FOR THE DAY: What does it mean to seek God’s kingdom first? It means making God the central focus of our lives. It involves aligning our desires, priorities, and actions with His will and purposes. Seeking God’s kingdom means living in obedience to His commands, walking in His ways, and actively participating in the advancement of His kingdom on earth. When we prioritize our relationship with God and His purposes in our lives, we can trust that He will provide for our needs according to His riches and glory (Phil. 4:19). Stay Refreshed!
NOTE THIS: Seeking God’s kingdom first requires intentionality and commitment. It’s a daily decision to put God first in every area of our lives. As we do so, we can trust that God will honor His promise to provide for us and bless us abundantly according to His will.
RESPONSIBILITY: So let us seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, knowing that everything else will fall into place as we trust in Him.
PRAYER: Heavenly Father, we come before You with humble hearts, acknowledging Your sovereignty and goodness. We thank You for the privilege of seeking Your kingdom and righteousness above all else. Help us to align our hearts with Your will and to make You the priority in every aspect of our lives. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
PROPHETIC WORD: As we seek God’s kingdom first above all else, may the Lord give us the grace to surrender our will to His and to walk in obedience to His commands. In the name of Jesus, Amen!
