THROUGH THE EYES OF LOVE
TIMES OF REFRESHING ONLINE DAILY DEVOTIONAL www.thefountspring.org
DATE: TUESDAY 4 MAY 2021
There are people God has put in our lives on purpose so we can help restore them. They’re hurt. They’re wounded. They’re addicted. They’re broken. And it’s easy to criticize and think they should make better decisions, or say it’s their own fault. But if it was not for the grace of God, that could be us. We didn’t get to where we are because we’re so talented, so disciplined, so obedient; but grace found us. Building on that same grace, we’re encouraged to look at the people in our lives through the eyes of love.
SCRIPTURE: …‘Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.’ (Matthew 25:40) ESV
REFRESHING FOR THE DAY: Stop looking down on people and start looking at them through the eyes of love.
You may be more talented and better than them; but where did you get the talent? It came from God. It wasn’t anything you chose. It’s simply the goodness of God. But too often, we look at others disdainfully, and think it’s all their fault for who they are. And we forgot, it’s God’s grace at work. Without His grace, we might be where they are.
So beloved, instead of looking down on them, pointing the finger, look at them through the eyes of love. Don’t condemn nor judge them. God didn’t put them there so you could judge them, He put them there so you could love them. Love heals. Love restores. Love lifts up. Stay Refreshed!
NOTE THIS: Stop looking down on people and start looking at them through the eyes of love.
RESPONSIBILITY: See people around you as you see yourself, love and care for them as you do to yourself.
PRAYER: O LORD, give me the grace to love people around me, in the name of Jesus’ Amen! (Go ahead and continue to pray)
PROPHETIC WORD: Receive the grace to love NOW, in the name of Jesus, Amen.
BIBLE TEXTS: Matt 25:40
