The Wood Nobody Sees You Add
Times Of Refreshing Daily Devotional
Date: Monday, 13 July 2026
Topic: The Fire That Refused to Die (2)
Focus: The Wood Nobody Sees You Add
🔥Theme:
Keeping spiritual passion alive through disappointment, delay, and changing seasons.
📖 Key Verse:
“The fire must be kept burning on the altar continuously; it must not go out.” — Leviticus 6:13
Devotional:
A fire does not keep burning by accident. Someone must keep adding wood. This is also true of our spiritual lives. The fire of yesterday cannot sustain today’s walk with God. Prayer must continue. The Word must remain alive in us. Worship must become more than a song we sing in public. The altar needs attention, especially when no one is watching. Much of what keeps your spiritual fire alive will never be seen by others. Nobody may know about the early morning prayer, the Scripture you read when you were tired, the worship whispered through tears, or the decision to seek God when your feelings were pulling you elsewhere. These are the pieces of wood nobody sees you add. In Leviticus 6, God commanded the priests to put fresh wood on the altar every morning so that the fire would never go out. The fire was from God, but the responsibility of tending it belonged to the priest.
📖 Scripture Reading:
- Leviticus 6:12–13 — Fresh wood must be added every morning; the fire must not go out.
- 2 Timothy 1:6 — Fan into flame the gift of God.
- Psalm 63:1 — My soul thirsts for You.
💧 Refreshing for the Day:
In the same way, only God can ignite true spiritual fire, but we must guard what He has kindled. Many people want a burning heart without maintaining an altar. But lasting fire is built through daily fellowship with God. It is sustained in the ordinary moments when you choose prayer over distraction, Scripture over noise, obedience over convenience, and God’s presence over everything competing for your attention. Do not wait until you feel spiritually dry before returning to the altar. Add wood while the fire is still burning. Protect your time with God. Guard your hunger. Feed what heaven has ignited. The world may never see the wood you add in secret, but one day, it will see the fire that came from it. Stay Refreshed!
✨ Note This:
🔥 The fire people see in public is often sustained by the wood nobody saw you add in private.
🛡️ Responsibility:
Add fresh wood to your altar today. Set aside intentional time for prayer, Scripture, and worship—not out of routine, but to keep your heart alive before God.
🙏 Prayer:
Father, help me guard the fire You have kindled within me. Give me discipline to seek You daily, especially when no one is watching. Deliver me from spiritual carelessness and teach me to keep adding fresh wood to the altar through prayer, Your Word, worship, and obedience. Let my heart remain alive and burning for You. In Jesus’ name, Amen!
🔥 Prophetic Declaration:
The fire of God within me will not go out. I will guard my altar, feed my spirit, and remain faithful in the secret place. Distraction will not steal my hunger, weariness will not silence my prayer, and changing seasons will not extinguish my passion for God. I will keep burning for His glory. In Jesus’ name, Amen!
