THE UPPER ROOM MANDATE – UNTIL THE POWER FALLS (1)

Times Of Refreshing Daily Devotional

Date: Wednesday, 4 June 2025

Topic: The Upper Room Mandate – Until the Power Falls (1)

Focus: The Call to the Upper Room

Message:

Before revival hits the streets, it starts in the secret place. Before the noise of Pentecost came the silence of the Upper Room—where a remnant waited, prayed, and refused to leave until power fell. This devotional series is not for the casual—it’s for the consecrated. For those who say, “Lord, I will wait until You come again in power.”

📖 Key Verse:

Acts 1:13–14 (NIV) – “They all joined together constantly in prayer, along with the women and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brothers.”

Devotional:

When Jesus ascended, He didn’t send the disciples out immediately—He told them to wait in Jerusalem until they were “clothed with power from on high” (Luke 24:49). That command still echoes today. The Upper Room wasn’t about hiding; it was about preparing. It was the place of alignment, obedience, and consecration. God still calls His people to the Upper Room—not a physical space, but a posture of surrender and expectancy.

📖 Scripture Reading:

Acts 1:4–5 (NIV)“On one occasion, while he was eating with them, he gave them this command: ‘Do not leave Jerusalem, but wait for the gift my Father promised, which you have heard me speak about. For John baptized with water, but in a few days you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit.'”

💧 Refreshing for the Day:

Before public power, there must be private positioning. The fire will not fall on distracted hearts—it will fall on those who make room. The Upper Room wasn’t optional for the early Church—and it’s not optional for us. So, beloved, if you want to walk in the fire, you must dwell where it falls. Stay Refreshed!

Note This:

You can’t bypass the Upper Room and expect Pentecost.

🛡️ Responsibility:

  • Set aside a moment today to shut every door and wait on God.
  • Say yes to the Upper Room again.

🙏 Prayer:

Lord, call me back to the place of waiting. Let me not run ahead of You. I choose the Upper Room over the spotlight. Prepare me for Your power. In Jesus’ name, Amen!

🔥 Prophetic Declaration:

I am being positioned in the Upper Room. I will not move until power comes! Revival is birthing in my waiting! Alleluia!

📖 Bible Texts:

Acts 1:4-5; 13-14, Luke 24:49
