Isaiah 11:2 (NIV): “The Spirit of the Lord will rest on him—the Spirit of wisdom and of understanding, the Spirit of counsel and of might, the Spirit of the knowledge and fear of the Lord.”
Devotional:
The Bible is more than a book of stories or commands—it is the living Word of God. Yet without the Spirit of Understanding, Scripture can remain hidden, leaving people with head knowledge but no heart transformation. After His resurrection, Jesus appeared to His disciples and did something profound: “Then he opened their minds so they could understand the Scriptures.” — (Luke 24:45) Understanding Scripture is not about intellect alone—it is a spiritual encounter. The Pharisees knew the Scriptures by memory, but they missed the Messiah standing in front of them. Meanwhile, a childlike heart open to the Spirit can grasp mysteries that scholars overlook.
