The Spirit of Counsel (1)
Times Of Refreshing Daily Devotional
Date: Sunday, 28 September 2025
Topic: The Spirit of Counsel (1)
Focus: God, Our Wonderful Counselor
🔥 Message:
Life is full of decisions—some small, others destiny-defining. Human reasoning can only take you so far, but the Spirit of Counsel provides divine guidance that never fails. Counsel is more than advice; it is Heaven’s direction, given by the Spirit, that leads you into the path of God’s will. Psalm 16:7 declares: “I will bless the Lord who has given me counsel; my heart also instructs me in the night seasons.”
The Spirit of Counsel does not just answer questions—it aligns your heart with God’s wisdom, provides clarity in confusion, and gives peace in direction. He teaches you how to walk, when to wait, and where to go. This devotional series will help you learn how to recognize, receive, and walk in the counsel of God, so that your life decisions align with Heaven’s design.
📖 Key Verse:
Psalm 16:7 (NKJV): “I will bless the Lord who has given me counsel; my heart also instructs me in the night seasons.”
Devotional:
When Isaiah prophesied about the coming Messiah, he declared: “And His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” — (Isaiah 9:6) Jesus is the Wonderful Counselor—the One who gives perfect guidance. Unlike human counselors who can miss details, His counsel is flawless because He knows the end from the beginning. The Spirit of Counsel flows from Him to guide us in decisions, big and small. When Moses was overwhelmed by the burden of leadership, God counseled him to appoint others to share the load (Exodus 18:17–23). That divine counsel preserved both Moses and the nation.
📖 Scripture Reading:
Isaiah 9:6 – Jesus, our Wonderful Counselor.
Exodus 18:17–23 – God’s counsel through Jethro preserved Moses.
Psalm 73:24 – “You guide me with your counsel, and afterward you will take me into glory.”
