The Sound of My Cry (2)
Times Of Refreshing Daily Devotional
Date: Monrday, 11 August 2025
Topic: The Sound of My Cry (2)
Focus: Crying Out From the Depths
🔥 Message:
There is a kind of prayer that goes beyond words, beyond form, beyond ritual. It’s the deep groan of the heart, the yearning of the soul, the melody of desperation and devotion that rises to the throne of God. This is the sound Heaven cannot ignore—the sound of a child crying out to their Father. Like Hannah in the temple (1 Samuel 1:15), like David in the wilderness (Psalm 61:1–2), and like Jesus in Gethsemane (Luke 22:44), there are moments when prayer is no longer a duty—it’s an overflow of longing, pain, hope, and love.
This series will take you on a 7-day journey to rediscover raw, unfiltered prayer—a prayer that comes from the depths and touches Heaven’s heart.
📖 Key Verse:
Psalm 61:1–2 (NIV) — “Hear my cry, O God; listen to my prayer. From the ends of the earth I call to You, I call as my heart grows faint; lead me to the rock that is higher than I.”
Devotional:
Some cries come from the surface—quick, casual, almost routine. But there are other cries that rise from the deepest part of you, born out of desperation and dependence. These are the prayers that shake Heaven. The psalmist wrote: “Out of the depths I cry to You, Lord; Lord, hear my voice.” —Psalm 130:1–2 This cry is different—it comes when you know no one else can help you, when your heart is pressed and your spirit is stretched. It’s not a cry of hopelessness, but of hope—a recognition that God alone can deliver.
📖 Scripture Reading:
Psalm 130:1–2 – “Out of the depths I cry to You…”
Mark 10:47–49 – Bartimaeus cries out to Jesus.
Jeremiah 33:3 – “Call to Me and I will answer you…”
💧 Refreshing for the Day:
Blind Bartimaeus in Mark 10:47 knew this kind of cry. The crowd told him to be quiet, but he shouted louder: “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!” His desperation drew Jesus near, and his life was forever changed. So, beloved, when you cry from the depths, it pierces through the noise of life and reaches the ears of the Father. Don’t hold back—your deepest cry may be the doorway to your greatest breakthrough. Your deepest cry is Heaven’s invitation to move. Stay Refreshed!
✨ Note This:
Desperation in prayer is not weakness—it is faith refusing to give up.
🛡️ Responsibility:

🔥 Prophetic Declaration:
My cry will not be silenced! God hears me from the depths, and His hand is moving to bring my deliverance.
