Life does get tough at times, but we can learn how to navigate those times successfully without losing our peace and joy. So, in this series, we shall be learning top biblical best practices on how to navigate hard times, drawing insights from the passion of Christ. And the first of them all is “developing the right attitude”. Beloved, our attitude is everything. The attitude we grow during hard times would determine our success or not through it.

SCRIPTURE: Whatever happens, conduct yourselves in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ… (Philippians 1:27 NIV)

REFRESHING FOR THE DAY: A bad attitude they said, is like a flat tire. If you don’t change it, you won’t go anywhere. Just like Paul’s letter to the Philippians 1:27, the same is applicable to us today; no matter what unexpected disruptions, frustrations, or difficulties that may come our way, we are to respond with a Christlike attitude (Eph 5:1). Jesus maintained a perfect attitude in every situation. He prayed about everything and worried about nothing (Phil 4:6). In the midst of trials, He was patient. In the midst of suffering, He was hopeful. Even in the midst of ridicule, abuse, and hostility, He “made no threats… and did not retaliate. Instead, He entrusted Himself to Him who judges justly” (1 Peter 2:23).

We too, should seek God’s guidance about our attitude, in every aspect of our lives and allow Him to work out His perfect will. We shall continue tomorrow, but till then, stay refreshed!

NOTE THIS: Our attitude should be the same as that of Jesus Christ.

RESPONSIBILITY: So, we continue to ask God for the grace for a right attitude.

PRAYER: O LORD, give me the grace for a right attitude. May I pattern my life to that of Yours, in the name of Jesus’ Amen! (Go ahead and pray for other intentions as the Spirit leads)

PROPHETIC WORD: May God help you and give you the grace to grow right attitude, in the name of Jesus’ Amen!
