THE POWER OF PERSISTENT PRAYER (1)
TIMES OF REFRESHING DAILY DEVOTIONAL www.thefountspring.org
DATE: SUNDAY, 28 APRIL 2024
In the busy chaos of life, where lots of things try to get our attention and problems keep popping up, praying a lot can be like a shining light of hope, direction, and strength. When we keep talking to God regularly, we start to see how powerful it can be to keep on praying. It strengthens our relationship with God, gives us comfort in hard times, and helps us stay on the right path.
SCRIPTURE: “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.” — Matthew 7:7-8 (NIV)
REFRESHING FOR THE DAY: Persistent prayer is like having a sincere conversation with God, where we pour out our feelings, hopes, and fears, trusting in His wisdom and love. In the Bible, we see many examples of people who kept on praying, and God answered them. Jesus Himself prayed fervently, showing us the importance of persistence in prayer. Stay Refreshed!
NOTE THIS: The power of persistent prayer doesn’t depend on using fancy words or talking for a long time. It’s about truly believing and being sincere in our hearts.
RESPONSIBILITY: Therefore, beloved, persevere in prayer with unwavering faith, knowing that your petitions are not in vain but are heard by the One who holds all power and authority.
PRAYER: Heavenly Father, I come before You with a heart full of gratitude and trust. Thank You for the privilege of prayer, through which I can commune with You, my Creator and Sustainer. Grant me the strength and perseverance to engage in persistent prayer, trusting in Your sovereignty and goodness. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
PROPHETIC WORD: By the authority vested in me as a child of God, I declare that my prayers are powerful and effective. I declare that as I persist in prayer, doors of opportunity will swing open before me, and divine blessings will overflow in abundance. In the name of Jesus, Amen!
