The Oil of the Secret Place (3)

Times Of Refreshing Daily Devotional

Date: Tuesday, 19 August 2025

Topic: The Oil of the Secret Place (3)

Focus: The Discipline of the Secret Place

🔥 Message:

The secret place is where the deepest intimacy with God is birthed. It is not found in the noise of the crowd, nor in the applause of men, but in the quiet corners where your heart meets His. In the secret place, roots grow deep, oil flows fresh, and strength is renewed. Jesus taught us that prayer is not a performance for others, but a personal encounter with the Father (Matthew 6:6). The secret place is not about location but posture—it is the hidden life of communion where Heaven pours oil into vessels that wait. This oil sustains you when the storms rage, empowers you when battles come, and prepares you for the Bridegroom’s arrival.

This series journey will take us back to the hidden place of prayer, teaching us to draw fresh oil for every season of life.

📖 Key Verse:

Matthew 6:6 (NIV) — “But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.”

Devotional:
Abiding in the secret place requires more than desire—it requires discipline. Desire will stir you, but discipline will sustain you. Daniel is a powerful example. Even under the threat of death, he maintained his prayer life: “He went home to his upstairs room where the windows opened toward Jerusalem. Three times a day he got down on his knees and prayed, giving thanks to his God, just as he had done before.” —Daniel 6:10

Beloved, discipline in prayer builds consistency. Without it, you’ll be tossed about by feelings, schedules, and distractions. With it, you develop a rhythm of intimacy that keeps your oil fresh.

📖 Scripture Reading:
Daniel 6:10 – Daniel’s discipline of prayer.
Psalm 55:17 – “Evening, morning, and noon I cry out…”
1 Corinthians 9:27 – Discipline your body, keep it under control.

💧 Refreshing for the Day:
The enemy fears a consistent believer. Why? Because consistency builds depth, and depth builds authority. Anyone can pray once in a while, but it takes a disciple to rise daily, close the door, and keep oil flowing from the secret place. Discipline is not bondage—it’s devotion. It is the framework that allows love to flourish and intimacy to deepen. Discipline in the secret place ensures a steady flow of oil, no matter the season. Stay Refreshed!

Note This:
Desire sparks intimacy, but discipline sustains it.

🛡️ Responsibility:
✅ Set a specific time each day this week for secret place prayer. Guard it like a divine appointment.

🙏 Prayer:
Lord, give me the grace to be disciplined in my pursuit of You. Let consistency in prayer shape my spirit, strengthen my walk, and keep my oil burning. In Jesus’ name, Amen!

🔥 Prophetic Declaration:
I am disciplined in the secret place! My oil will not run dry, my altar will not go cold, and my intimacy with God will deepen daily. In Jesus’ name, Amen!
