Many Christians toil like an elephant and eat like a grasshopper. Have you ever wondered why a person is so gifted and yet he struggles in life? He or she has the call of God upon his or her life but remains insignificant. What he or she needs is not toil but oil (the anointing).
The anointing is the power of God and the operation of the Holy Spirit within man. It is the unction of the Holy Spirit directing a person into God’s will for his life. The anointing turns a nobody to somebody. It catapults a man from wilderness to palace, as seen in the life of David in 1 Samuel 16.
Beloved, there are certain levels and dimensions of major life accomplishments one will never attain until the anointing lands upon his life. A man under God’s anointing is resolute and ever unconquerable.
SCRIPTURE:
So, Samuel took the horn of oil and anointed him in the presence of his brothers, and from that day on the Spirit of the Lord came powerfully upon David… (1 Samuel 16:13) NIV
REFRESHING FOR THE DAY:
Where the anointing is lacking, struggle is evident. And the absence of anointing equals the presence of annoyance.
There is a relationship between the anointing and the purpose and calling of God upon your life. The anointing accelerates the purpose of God. It is a Divine enablement for us to accomplish God’s purposes on earth. The anointing of the Holy Spirit teaches us the will of God, (1 John 2:27) and communicates to us the mind of Christ, (1 Cor. 2:16).
Few important thoughts to note about the anointing;
1. The anointing contains the power to preserve, (Psalm 105:12-15).
2. It has the power to break every yolk, (Isaiah 10:27).
3. Anointing empowers one to be fruitful, (Luke 1:35).
4. Anointing unleashes raw power, (Acts 1:8).

RESPONSIBILITY:
Go to God in prayer, cry to Him for the release of His anointing upon your life.
PRAYER:
O LORD, let your anointing and the power of the Holy Spirit fall upon me NOW, in the name of Jesus’ Amen! (Go ahead and continue to pray)
PROPHETIC WORD:
May the anointing and the power of the Holy Ghost come upon you and yours NOW, in the name of Jesus, Amen.
