THE KEY OF GRATITUDE

TIMES OF REFRESHING ONLINE DAILY DEVOTIONAL www.thefountspring.org

DATE: MONDAY, 13 FEBRUARY 2023

Sometimes the pressures of life can have us laser-focused on the things not working. We tend to focus on the failing marriage, the illness, the financial struggle, the children we are trusting God for and so much more. This keeps us from seeing and appreciating the faithfulness of God in our lives. Yes, the children may still be on the way, but we have health and a good marriage.  Yes, finances are tight, but we have life. Yes, the illness may still be there, but we are still alive. If we will see answers to our prayers, we must understand and Master how to use the key of gratitude. This is why Scripture admonishes us in Philippians 4:6 not to be,

SCRIPTURE: …anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. (Philippians 4:6 ESV)

REFRESHING FOR THE DAY: Our anchor Scripture makes it clear that thanksgiving is key in prayer and supplication. If our prayers will be heard, it must be done in thanksgiving. Thanksgiving is born out of a grateful heart. Gratitude is the root of thanksgiving. So, if we are going to pray and receive answers to our prayers, we must live lives of gratitude and resist the spirit of murmuring and complaining.  Appreciating God for the things we have working in our lives while trusting Him for the ones that are yet to work. Stay Refreshed.

NOTE THIS: If we are going to pray and receive answers to our prayers, we must live lives of gratitude and resist the spirit of murmuring and complaining.

RESPONSIBILITY: Pray and ask God for the grace to live lives of gratitude and thanksgiving.

PRAYER: Oh Lord, I ask for grace to have a grateful disposition to life and live a life of thanksgiving, in Jesus’ name, Amen!

PROPHETIC WORD: May the Spirit of the Almighty God empower you to live a grateful life in appreciation of God’s faithfulness towards you, in Jesus’ name, Amen.

BIBLE TEXTS: Philippians 4:6
