The Altar and the Fire (6)

Times Of Refreshing Daily Devotional

Date: Friday, 7 November 2025

Topic: The Altar and the Fire (6)

Focus: The Fire That Draws His Glory

🔥 Message:

The fire of revival is sustained only on the altar of surrender. Without the altar, there can be no lasting flame. The Altar represents the place of sacrifice, intimacy, and prayer—where flesh dies, and God’s glory lives. The Fire represents His presence, passion, and power—Heaven’s response to a yielded heart. 1 Kings 18:30–39 records that Elijah rebuilt the altar of the Lord that had been torn down, and when he prayed, fire fell. God’s fire always responds to a restored altar.

So, beloved, in this devotional series, we’ll explore what it means to rebuild and maintain your spiritual altar—to become a life fully yielded, consistently burning, and unashamedly set apart for God.

📖 Key Verse:

1 Kings 18:30 (NIV): “Then Elijah said to all the people, ‘Come here to me.’ They came to him, and he repaired the altar of the Lord, which had been torn down.”

Devotional:
Where there is true fire, there is glory. God’s glory always follows the fire of His presence. The altar is where man reaches up, but the fire is where God reaches down. When both meet, glory fills the place. In 2 Chronicles 7:1–2 we read: “When Solomon finished praying, fire came down from heaven and consumed the burnt offering and the sacrifices, and the glory of the Lord filled the temple. The priests could not enter the temple of the Lord because the glory of the Lord filled it.”

The altar of Solomon was not impressive because of gold or beauty—it was powerful because it carried sacrifice and fire. When heaven’s fire touched that earthly altar, the entire atmosphere shifted, and the glory of God filled the temple.

📖 Scripture Reading:
2 Chronicles 7:1–3 – Fire falls and glory fills the temple.
Exodus 40:34–35 – The glory of the Lord filled the tabernacle.
John 17:22 – “The glory that You gave Me I have given them.”

💧 Refreshing for the Day:
Beloved, the same happens today. When your altar is ablaze with sincere worship and yielded surrender, God’s glory manifests—hearts are healed, burdens lift, and His tangible presence fills your life. Glory is Heaven’s response to pure fire. If you maintain your altar, you won’t have to chase God’s glory—it will rest upon you. The fire draws it. When the fire burns purely, the glory comes naturally. Stay Refreshed!

Note This:
🔥 You don’t pray for glory to come—you build an altar that attracts it.

🛡️ Responsibility:
✅ Spend time today in heartfelt worship. Don’t rush His presence—wait until His glory fills the atmosphere around and within you.

🙏 Prayer:
Lord, let Your glory rest upon my life. May the fire of my altar draw Your presence like never before. Fill every space I occupy with Your beauty and power. In Jesus’ name, Amen!

🔥 Prophetic Declaration:
My altar burns with heavenly fire! The glory of God rests upon me, transforming my life and radiating through me wherever I go. In Jesus’ name, Amen!
