STOP STARING AT YOUR PAST (2)
TIMES OF REFRESHING ONLINE DAILY DEVOTIONAL www.thefountspring.org
DATE: THURSDAY, 3 NOVEMBER 2022
Yet again, staring at the past stops us from moving on. It causes us to embrace stagnation and reject the future. It’s just like entering a deflated vehicle, no matter how beautiful the inside of the vehicle may look, it would never run nor move. Therefore, in the best interest of the posterity and our wellbeing, the Bible encourages us in Isaiah 43:18, it says,
SCRIPTURE: Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old. (Isaiah 43:18 KJV)
REFRESHING FOR THE DAY: Beloved, staring at the past is a waste of time. It means ignoring the new opportunities and the open doors God has for you in the future. This is how it works; every event of life has a time tag to it. So, the past came with its own tag, staring at it means dwelling at the time that has long left you behind. You need to embrace the future and the blessings that come with it and let the past remain in the past (Isaiah 42:9). Stay Refreshed!
NOTE THIS: Staring in your past holds you on the ground, for unless the past doors are closed, the new doors won’t open for you.
RESPONSIBILITY: So, deliberately decide to close the past doors behind, and joyfully open the new ones ahead.
PRAYER: O LORD, give me the grace to stop staring at my past, and cause me to embrace the future and the blessings it holds, in Jesus’ name, Amen! (Go ahead and pray for other intentions as the Spirit leads)
PROPHETIC WORD: May the Lord, do a new thing in your life and cause your joy to be complete, in the name of Jesus’ Amen!
BIBLE TEXTS: Isaiah 42:9; 43:18-19
