TIMES OF REFRESHING ONLINE DAILY DEVOTIONAL www.thefountspring.org
DATE: FRIDAY, 17 NOVEMBER 2023
TOPIC: LIVING A LIFE OF PURPOSE: A SOURCE OF SPIRITUAL FULFILLMENT
So, beloved, having looked at various ways and how to stay committed to our mission and purpose on earth, now let’s explore the challenges and rewards of remaining committed to our mission even in the face of adversity. Remaining committed to a mission in the face of adversity can be a daunting task, yet it often comes with both challenges and rewards. And here are few challenges one may encounter in the process.
SCRIPTURE: “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” – John 16:33 (NIV)
REFRESHING FOR THE DAY: Adversity can breed uncertainty, leading to doubt about the feasibility of the mission. Maintaining commitment becomes challenging when faced with doubt, both from oneself and others. Others are criticism, opposition, and societal and economic pressure. When these factors abound, adhering to a purpose becomes so difficult. And the continuous struggle against them can lead to physical burnout, spiritual and emotional exhaustion. Stay Refreshed!
NOTE THIS: A committed mission and purpose may be tough and face with negativity, but with a relentless and continual commitment, one shall overcome them all.
RESPONSIBILITY: So, beloved, let’s ask God for the grace to remain steadfast and committed to our purpose and mission on earth.
PRAYER: Oh LORD, grant us the strength to persevere in the face of challenges and the wisdom to discern Your guidance amidst the noise of the world, in the name of Jesus’ Amen!
PROPHETIC WORD: May our commitment to staying committed to our purpose on earth be unwavering and anchored in the unshakeable foundation of God’s love and grace, in the name of Jesus’ Amen!
