SPIRITUAL AWAKENING (2)
TIMES OF REFRESHING
ONLINE DAILY DEVOTIONAL by Obiorah Prince Emeka
DATE: TUESDAY, 6 OCTOBER 2020
Yesterday we established that love for God and neighbors is one of the cardinal proofs of a spirit awakened in Christ. Today we will be examining faith as one of those proofs. Faith in Christ is the bedrock of salvation.
Anyone who accepts Jesus as their Lord and saviour must first believe that He exists and that He is the Son of God. When a person believes in their heart and confesses that Jesus is Lord, the light of Christ shines into his life and his spirit awakens from the deadness of unbelief.
SCRIPTURE:
And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him (Hebrews 11:6, NIV).
REFRESHING FOR THE DAY:
The presence of timidity is a sign of the absence of faith.
Where there is light from scriptures, there is faith in Christ. You cannot catch revelational light and still mingle with doubt. So when your life is characterized by fear and doubt, it is a sure sign that you are lacking light.
The scripture above tells us that without faith it is impossible to please God. This then begs the question, how do we grow our faith? Romans 10:17 answers that question. When we give ourselves to consistent study of the word of God, we expose our hearts to light.
Beloved, every time we catch light from the scriptures, our faith grows. We begin to grow from the level of faith that secured our salvation to the level of faith that can move mountains. When a man operates in unnatural faith, his spirit has been awakened as a result of exposure to light. Stay lifted!
NOTE THIS:
The presence of timidity is a sign of the absence of faith.
