SPIRITUAL AWAKENING

TIMES OF REFRESHING

ONLINE DAILY DEVOTIONAL by Obiorah Prince Emeka

DATE: MONDAY, 5 OCTOBER 2020

When light shines on darkness, then darkness has no option than to bow. Jesus is the light and when we receive him into our lives, He illuminates our inner man. When we accept Jesus as our lord and saviour,  the light of his glorious gospel shines into us and there becomes a spiritual awakening.

SCRIPTURE:

For anything that becomes visible is light. Therefore it says, “Awake, O sleeper, and arise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you. (Ephesians 5:14).

REFRESHING FOR THE DAY:

Until the moment our soul says “yes” to Jesus, we remain in a state of spiritual slumber.

When our spirit comes alive in Christ, our desires change. There becomes a visible and tangible change in our lifestyle, our mentality and our relationships with the people around us.

One of the cardinal proof of a spirit awakened in Christ is love. Love for God and the people around us. The awakened spirit is the spirit that manifests the Love of Christ in every ramification. When love is lacking in the life of a person, it is a sure sign that God is not present in the life of that man.

The bible says that “he that does not love does not know God because God is love,” (1 John 4:8). One cannot claim to be a Christian when love is totally absent in their lives evident in their relationship with the people around them.

Beloved, the question for you to meditate upon today is, “have I truly be awakened in Christ and is this awakening characterized by love in my life.”

NOTE THIS:

Until the moment our soul says “yes” to Jesus, we remain in a state of spiritual slumber.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Constantly evaluate the love gauge in your life to know when to put in more effort to show love to the people around you.

PRAYERS:

Father awaken my Spirit today and let this awakening result in love for you and the people around me In Jesus name, Amen (Just go ahead and continue to pray).

PROPHETIC WORD:

Recieve grace to love God and  your neighbors, in the mighty name ofJesus, Amen.

BIBLE TEXTS: Ephesians 5:14, 1 John 4:8.
