Yet again, beloved, another fundamental insight you must note as you journey towards your goals in this new year is to embrace a holistic approach to goal-setting. A holistic approach to goal-setting emphasizes the interconnectedness of various aspects of life – stretching from professional, personal, spiritual and relational aspects of life. This involves making plans for success not solely in one aspect of life, but by putting complete efforts to all aspects of life too. Just as the Scripture encourages in 3 John 1:2,
SCRIPTURE: “Dear friend, I pray that you may enjoy good health and that all may go well with you, even as your soul is getting along well.” – 3 John 1:2 (NIV)
REFRESHING FOR THE DAY: So, while pursuing career goals, strive for excellence and integrity. Set professional objectives. Consider goals that contribute to your personal well-being and growth. Prioritize spiritual growth, and establish practices that deepen your relationship with God, such as regular prayer, Bible study, and participation in a faith community. Set goals that foster meaningful connections with family, friends, and your community. Prioritize qualities like love, forgiveness, and humility in your interactions, aiming to contribute positively to the lives of those around you. Stay Refreshed!
NOTE THIS: In adopting a holistic approach to goal-setting, recognize that each dimension of your life contributes to the overall well-being of who you are.
RESPONSIBILITY: So, strive for balance and wholeness in all aspects of your life.
PRAYER: Oh God, help our lives. As we seek to set Christ-centered goals in this new year, guide us to approach it holistically and wholeness. Not just in our spiritual life alone, but to other aspects of our lives. In Jesus’ name, we pray, Amen!
PROPHETIC WORD: And as we prosper spiritually, may the Lord cause us to prosper on every sides too, in the name of Jesus’ Amen!
