SEEKING GOD FIRST AND ALWAYS

TIMES OF REFRESHING

ONLINE DAILY DEVOTIONAL by Obiorah Prince Emeka

DATE: MONDAY 17 AUGUST 2020

When Christians have a God-first mentality, many mistakes in life will be averted. When we cultivate a habit of prioritizing our relationship with God and invest time and energy to grow in intimacy and the knowledge of God, then God opens our wisdom base and shows us things to come.

We MUST seek God with the whole of our heart, no reservation, only then can we find him.

SCRIPTURE:

Seek ye first the kingdom of God and its righteousness and every other thing shall be added unto you (Matthew 6:33)

REFRESHING FOR THE DAY:

To seek god first is to stay on the path of righteousness which is the path that leads to eternal life.

Our race to eternity with Jesus will be short-lived if we neglect the place of seeking God first, in the morning, afternoon, night and in every area of our lives.

WHAT HAPPENS WHEN WE SEEK GOD FIRST AND ALWAYS?

1.    Strange doors of blessings and unmerited favour begin to open unto us.

2.    Things we have sought after that was never forthcoming begin to drop into our hands.

3.    Prioritizing God and the affairs of His kingdom sets the stage for tremendous breakthrough and unique testimonies in our lives.

This is God’s promise to us; however, it is not to say that we should seek God with the sole purpose of gaining things from Him, it simply will not work.

WHAT MUST YOU DO THEN?

1.    Realise that you cannot go far in life without divine direction.

2.    Be intentional about spending time with God and seeking his face daily.

3.    The morning time is the most serene time to commune with God so shake off sleep and make use of that time.

NOTE THIS:

To seek God first is to stay on the path of righteousness which is the path that leads to eternal life.

RESPONSIBILITY:

Make a decision to seek God daily and be intentional about following through with your decision.

PRAYER:

My God and my Father, I ask for the grace to seek you first and always every day of my life in Jesus name, Amen (Go ahead and begin to pray)

PROPHETIC WORD:

May God be generous to you as you seek Him first in your life, in the mighty name Jesus! Amen.
