SEEK NOTHING BUT JESUS
TIMES OF REFRESHING ONLINE DAILY DEVOTIONAL www.thefountspring.org

What are you seeking for in life? We all seek joy, happiness; but where are you looking for that joy, happiness? Some think that they will find it in financial success or a satisfying career, and so they devote themselves to those pursuits. Others think that they will find happiness in sex. They become enslaved to pornography, or they go from one partner to the next, hence tearing down their destiny. Many try to find that pleasure in alcohol or drugs, only to destroy their lives. They succeeded in damaging their liver and kidney, yet the pleasure is never found.
But I tell you most seriously, there is nothing more important to seek for in life than to seek for Jesus and the eternal life that He can give.
SCRIPTURE: For I decided to know nothing among you except Jesus Christ and him crucified. (1 Corinthians 2:2) ESV
REFRESHING FOR THE DAY: Seek nothing but Jesus; for when you find Him, you have found everything.
The Scripture is clear that our ultimate source of joy, happiness and pleasure is found only in God. David wrote (Ps. 16:11), “In Your presence is fullness of joy; in Your right hand there are pleasures forever.” Jesus told the disciples in John 15:11, “These things I have spoken to you so that My joy may be in you, and that your joy may be made full.”
Beloved, if you’re seeking for anything other than Jesus Christ, you can only seek forever. But if you seek Jesus, He will let Himself be found by you. And when you find Him, you have found everything. You have found peace, joy, happiness and pleasure forever. Stay Lifted!
NOTE THIS: Seek nothing but Jesus; for when you find Him, you have found everything.
RESPONSIBILITY: In everything, consciously seek Jesus, not for what you will get from Him, but to know Him and be with Him.
PRAYER: O LORD, put in me the hunger to seek more than anything in my life, in the name of Jesus’ Amen! (Go ahead and continue to pray)
PROPHETIC WORD: As you seek Jesus, may you find Him, and He will do for you that you can’t do for yourself, in the name of Jesus’ Amen!
BIBLE TEXTS: 1 Cor. 2:2, Ps 16:11, John 15:11
