Running Before the Rain

Times Of Refreshing Daily Devotional

Date: Thursday, 11 June 2026

Topic: The Sound Before the Rain (5)

 Focus: Running Before the Rain

🔥Theme:

Recognizing God’s signs and stirrings before breakthrough arrives.

📖 Key Verse:
“I hear the sound of abundance of rain.” — 1 Kings 18:41

Devotional:

One of the most fascinating parts of Elijah’s story is that he began to move before the rain fully arrived. After seeing the small cloud, he told Ahab: “Prepare your chariot and go down before the rain stops you.” (1 Kings 18:44) Think about that. The drought was not yet over. The storm had not fully broken. The downpour had not yet begun. Yet Elijah acted as though the rain was already on the way. Why? Because faith moves on what God has said, not merely on what circumstances confirm. Many believers are waiting for complete evidence before taking action. But often, God gives just enough confirmation to require faith.

📖 Scripture Reading:

  • 1 Kings 18:44–46 — Elijah moves before the rain
  • Hebrews 11:7 — Noah acts in holy fear
  • James 2:17 — Faith without works is dead

💧 Refreshing for the Day:

Noah built an ark before seeing rain. Abraham left his homeland before seeing the promise. Peter stepped out of the boat before seeing how he would stand. Faith does not ignore reality. Faith simply trusts God’s word more than visible circumstances. There are moments when God says: “Start preparing.” “Start moving.” “Start believing again.” “Start building.” Not because the rain has already arrived, but because it is closer than you think. The people who experience God’s next season are often the people who begin preparing for it before everyone else sees it. Faith prepares for what God promised before it fully appears. Stay Refreshed!

Note This:

🏃 Faith does not wait for the rain to fall before it starts moving.

🛡️ Responsibility:

Ask yourself: If I truly believed God was about to move, what would I start preparing for today?

🙏 Prayer:

Father, give me the courage to move in faith. Help me prepare for the things You have promised and trust You even before I see full manifestation. In Jesus’ name, Amen!

🔥 Prophetic Declaration:

I am moving by faith and not by sight. I will prepare for God’s promises, walk in obedience, and position myself for the season that is coming. In Jesus’ name, Amen!
