Rooted: Growing Deep Before Going Far (5)

Times Of Refreshing Daily Devotional

Date: Thursday, 3 July 2025

Topic: Rooted: Growing Deep Before Going Far (5)

Focus: Digging Deeper in Dry Seasons

🔥 Message:

Before God launches you, He grounds you. This devotional series will help you embrace the beauty of spiritual formation, character development, and divine preparation. Like a tree, your destiny is determined by how deep your roots go. You were not made to wither under pressure — you were made to stand strong, grow tall, and bear lasting fruit. But first, you must be rooted.

📖 Key Verse:

“He is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither—whatever they do prospers.” – Psalm 1:3 (NIV)

Devotional:
Not every season feels full of rain. Sometimes, the soil feels dry. Prayers seem unanswered. Growth feels invisible. But dry seasons aren’t death—they’re an invitation to dig deeper. Trees that survive drought don’t give up—they send their roots deeper underground to find hidden water. In the same way, when life feels spiritually dry, don’t run away from God—press in. This is when real depth is formed—not in overflow, but in the pressing.

📖 Scripture Reading:
Jeremiah 17:7–8 – “…does not fear when heat comes… its leaves are always green.”
Isaiah 58:11 – “You will be like a well-watered garden…”
Psalm 63:1 – “In a dry and weary land… my soul thirsts for You.”

💧 Refreshing for the Day:
God may be drawing you into deeper trust, deeper dependence, deeper intimacy. The surface may feel barren, but underground, your roots are stretching, expanding, anchoring. Don’t despise the dry place. It’s the training ground of the deeply rooted. Dry seasons are not a sign of distance from God—they are a call to dig deeper into Him. Stay Refreshed!

Note This:
The roots that dig in the drought will thrive in the harvest.

🛡️ Responsibility:
✅ Identify one spiritual habit you’ve neglected during this season (prayer, worship, the Word, etc.). Recommit to it today—even if you don’t feel anything. Keep digging.

🙏 Prayer:
Father, even when I don’t feel You, I choose to pursue You. Teach me to dig deeper, to trust You in the drought, and to find hidden strength in Your presence. Let my roots grow stronger through every dry place. In Jesus’ name, Amen!

🔥 Prophetic Declaration:
I thrive even in drought! My roots seek living water. I am not withering—I am growing deeper, stronger, and unshakable in Christ! Alleluia!
