PUT FEET TO YOUR PRAYERS
TIMES OF REFRESHING ONLINE DAILY DEVOTIONAL www.thefountspring.org
DATE: SUNDAY, 23 JANUARY 2022
Just as water is to fish, fish cannot survive without water; so is prayer to man, man cannot survive without prayers. So, in all that we do in life, we ought to pray always. But most importantly, as we pray, we should put feet to our prayers. To put feet to our prayers means giving our prayer a structure and a guide to thrive, working it out. Seeing that we consciously do not only pray, but we also put a conforming work or action to it.
SCRIPTURE: Whoever works his land will have plenty of bread, but he who follows worthless pursuits lacks sense. (Proverbs 12:11) ESV
REFRESHING FOR THE DAY: Any wonder St Ignatius wrote, “Pray as if everything depends on God; work as if everything depends on you”. Prayer and work go hand in hand, they are constantly linked, pulling each other. Prayer without work is like an electric lamp holder without a bulb. No matter the amount of the current it may supply, it will never shine without the bulb. On this note beloved, I make bold to say that work is the vessel that conveys our prayers to its speedy manifestation. So, as you pray, also work. Stay Refreshed!
NOTE THIS: Prayer without work is like an electric lamp holder without a bulb. No matter the amount of the current it may supply, it will never shine without the bulb.
RESPONSIBILITY: Consciously work out your prayer.
PRAYER: O LORD, give me the strength to work through my prayers, in the name of Jesus’ Amen! (Go ahead and continue to pray)
PROPHETIC WORD: May the good Lord bless you and answer your prayers, in the name of Jesus’ Amen!
BIBLE TEXTS: Proverbs 12:11
