MAKE GOD YOUR FIRST PRIORITY (1)
TIMES OF REFRESHING ONLINE DAILY DEVOTIONAL www.thefountspring.org
DATE: THURSDAY, 11 MAY 2023
Dearly beloved, I want to share with you today about “Making God your first priority in life”. You see, God holds the answer and the solution to every problem and challenge in life. There’s nothing about our lives He doesn’t know. In fact, the Bible says, He knows even the number of hairs on our heads (Luke 12:7, Matthew 10:30). But what does it mean to make God the priority in our lives? It means putting God first in everything we do in life (Matt. 6:33) And not allowing anything to take away our attention from God nor come between our devotion to Him. So, in this series, we shall be looking at this subject and its benefits.
SCRIPTURE: “I am God Almighty; walk [habitually] before Me [with integrity, knowing that you are always in My presence], and be blameless and complete [in obedience to Me]. I will establish My covenant (everlasting promise) between Me and you, and I will multiply you exceedingly [through your descendants].” (Genesis 17:1-2 AMP)
REFRESHING FOR THE DAY: From our anchor Scripture, notice that God instructed Abraham to be habitual in walking with Him and living for Him alone. This is exactly what God wants from us. And we can achieve this by seeking the face of God (1 Chr 16:11), establishing daily habits of prayer and sincere worship (1 Thess 5:17), capped with consistent time spent in His Word (Josh 1:8). We shall continue tomorrow, but till then, Stay Refreshed!
NOTE THIS: When you make God the priority of your life, He will increase your joy (Isaiah 61:3) and establish you in abundance (Genesis 17:2).
RESPONSIBILITY: So, beloved, intentionally seek to put God first in all you do in life.
PRAYER: O God, I seek Your face. Please give me the grace to always put You first in all that I do in my life, in Jesus’ name, Amen!
PROPHETIC WORD: As you continue to seek the face of God, and making Him the priority in your life, may the Lord increase your joy and establish you in abundance, in the name of Jesus’ Amen!
BIBLE TEXTS: Gen 17:1-2, Luke 12:7, Matt 10:30, 1 Thess 5:17, 1 Chr 16:11, Josh 1:8
