Therefore, beloved, as we continue to meditate on the matter- “living with purpose and intentionality”, it’s essential we pause and reflect on this all-important question, “What legacy am I leaving for future generations?” This introspective question prompts us to consider the impact of our actions, choices, and values on the world around us and the lives of those who will come after us.
SCRIPTURE: “So the next generation would know them, even the children yet to be born, and they in turn would tell their children. Then they would put their trust in God and would not forget his deeds but would keep his commands.” — Psalm 78:6-7 (NIV)
REFRESHING FOR THE DAY: At this point, we consider our values and principles, relationships and connections, character and influence, impact and contributions, and many others. Our values shape the way we interact with others and contribute to the kind of world we leave behind for future generations to inherit. Our character and influence shape the way others perceive us and the example we set for those who look up to us as role models. Stay Refreshed!
NOTE THIS: Our integrity and character are the cornerstones of the legacy we leave behind. Live a life of honesty, humility, and authenticity, for these qualities will resonate with future generations long after we are gone.
RESPONSIBILITY: So, dearly beloved, as we contemplate these questions, let us be intentional about the legacy we are leaving for future generations.
PRAYER: O God, as we seek to live with purpose and intentionality, may our lives and character influence and shape the world around us and inspire generations to come. In the name of Jesus, we pray, Amen!
PROPHETIC WORD: May our lives be marked by love, integrity, compassion, and service, leaving behind a legacy that inspires and empowers others to continue the journey of making a positive impact in the world. In the name of Jesus, Amen!
