Living for Something Greater Than Yourself (7)
Times Of Refreshing Daily Devotional
Date: Saturday, 22 November 2025
Topic: Living for Something Greater Than Yourself (7)
Focus: Living a Life That Points to Jesus
🔥Theme:
We live in a world that constantly teaches self-promotion, self-focus, and self-glory. Yet the call of Christ pulls us in the opposite direction—into a life of surrender, service, and significance. True greatness is not found in how much we accumulate, but in how much we give. Paul captures this divine pursuit perfectly: “I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.” —Philippians 3:14
To live for something greater than yourself means to embrace the eternal over the temporary. It’s choosing purpose over pleasure, calling over comfort, and legacy over luxury. Every believer is called to live as a vessel through which Heaven touches earth—to carry God’s heart, reflect His love, and fulfill His divine assignment. This 7-day devotional will help you realign your focus, rekindle your sense of mission, and remember that you were created for more—more than survival, more than success, and more than self. You were created for Kingdom impact.
📖 Key Verse:
Philippians 3:14 (NIV): “I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.”
Devotional:
At the heart of living for something greater than yourself is this powerful truth:
Your life is meant to point people to Jesus. Everything God gives you—your gifts, influence, testimony, endurance, and breakthrough—is ultimately meant to shine a light on Him. You are not the message… you are the messenger. You are not the source… you are the vessel. Jesus said in Matthew 5:16: “Let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.”
A life that points to Jesus is a life lived with consistency, humility, and authenticity. People aren’t only touched by your blessings—they’re touched by your battles, your transformation, your perseverance, and your love.
📖 Scripture Reading:
Matthew 5:14–16 – Let your light shine.
1 Corinthians 11:1 – Follow me as I follow Christ.
John 3:30 – “He must increase, but I must decrease.”
💧 Refreshing for the Day:
Paul said, “Follow me as I follow Christ.” —1 Corinthians 11:1. This is the model of a surrendered life. Your words, your attitudes, your responses, your character… all of these should reflect the One who lives in you. People may never read a Bible, but they will read your life. What will they find? Grace? Faith? Hope? Love? Jesus?
When your life becomes a mirror of Christ’s heart, every step you take becomes Kingdom influence. That is the greatest life you can live. Stay Refreshed!
✨ Note This:
🔥 A life that points to Jesus changes lives without trying.
🛡️ Responsibility:
✅ Ask the Holy Spirit to show you one person you can reflect Jesus to today—through kindness, forgiveness, encouragement, or generosity.
🙏 Prayer:
Lord, let my life point to You. Make me a reflection of Your love, mercy, and truth. May everything I am bring glory to Your name and lead others closer to You. In Jesus’ name, Amen!
🔥 Prophetic Declaration:
My life is a signpost to Jesus! Everywhere I go, His light shines through me. I live for eternal impact, for His glory, and for the transformation of others. In Jesus’ name, Amen!
