LIVING A GOD-DEFINED LIFE
TIMES OF REFRESHING ONLINE DAILY DEVOTIONAL www.thefountspring.org
DATE: WEDNESDAY 21 APRIL 2021
We live in a world where sin, wickedness, love for money, resentment, immorality is the order of the day; and if one is not very careful and prayerful, he would allow all these to define his life. But the Scripture says in 1 Timothy 4:7; “have nothing to do with godless myths… rather, train yourself to be godly’. A God-defined life radiates for God and Him alone. It says no to evil and yes to godliness; establishing our lives in the image and fullness of Christ and pointing others to Jesus.
SCRIPTURE: God made my life complete when I placed all the pieces before him… (Psalms 18:20) MSG
REFRESHING FOR THE DAY: Who you are in Christ is so much more important than what you do for Christ.
A God-defined life is first and foremost, not bias, back-biting nor bitterness, but it’s a genuine and sincere love for God, and allowing Him to form you in Christ. A God-defined life doesn’t live for self, but rather lives for Jesus. It is putting God first in all you do; it’s dying daily to sin and saying yes to repentance. It’s not engaging in lots of religious act, but is having genuine intimacy and quality relationship with God.
Beloved, living a God-defined life is letting God be the owner of your life, letting Him direct and order your steps. It is an every day, every moment kind of thing. And for you to live this kind of life, you must have to give God all of you in order for Him to chisel you, break you, reshape and refurbish you to the image and fullness of Christ. Stay Lifted!
NOTE THIS: Who you are in Christ is so much more important than what you do for Christ.
RESPONSIBILITY: Allow God to be in charge of your life.
PRAYER: O LORD, I surrender to You, give me the grace to live for You and You alone, in the name of Jesus’ Amen! (Go ahead and continue to pray)
PROPHETIC WORD: Receive the grace to live above sin and evil, and begin to live for God alone, in the name of Jesus, Amen.
