Learning to Rest in God (1)
Times Of Refreshing Daily Devotional
Date: Sunday, 21 December 2025
Topic: Learning to Rest in God (1)
Focus: Rest Begins With Coming to God
🔥Theme:
In a world that constantly demands more, God invites us to slow down and rest in Him. This devotional series explores what it truly means to stop striving, release our burdens, and trust God’s loving care. As you journey through these days, you will learn how to find peace in God’s presence, rest in His promises, and live from a place of calm confidence rather than pressure and exhaustion.
📖 Key Verse:
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” — Matthew 11:28
Devotional:
Many people are tired—not because they do too much, but because they carry too much. Worry, pressure, expectations, and fear can quietly drain the soul. Jesus gives a simple invitation: “Come to Me.” Not fix it yourself. Not figure it all out. Just come. Rest does not begin when life becomes calm. Rest begins when you bring your burdens to Christ.
📖 Scripture Reading:
• Matthew 11:28 — Jesus invites the weary to rest.
• Psalm 62:1 — “My soul finds rest in God alone.”
• Isaiah 26:3 — Perfect peace comes from trusting God.
💧 Refreshing for the Day:
Matthew 11:28 reminds us that rest is not something we earn—it is something we receive. When we come to Jesus honestly and humbly, He gives rest that circumstances cannot take away. True rest starts in His presence. Stay Refreshed!
✨ Note This:
🌿 Rest begins when you stop running and start resting in God.
🛡️ Responsibility:
Today, pause and pray: “Lord, I come to You with all that weighs on me.”
🙏 Prayer:
Jesus, I come to You with my weariness and burdens. Teach me how to rest in Your presence and trust Your care. In Jesus’ name, Amen!
🔥 Prophetic Declaration:
I come to Jesus, and I receive His rest. My soul is at peace in Him. In Jesus’ name, Amen!
