LEAN ON JESUS

TIMES OF REFRESHING

ONLINE DAILY DEVOTIONAL by Obiorah Prince Emeka

DATE: TUESDAY 18 AUGUST 2020

Many Christians frequently try to work out issues of life by themselves and in their own understanding. When Christians do this, they ultimately miss out on the better plan God has for them, by taking the path that seems right to them.

Single brethren run into marriage without consulting or waiting to hear from God. Christians jump into business deals and proposals without seeking God’s face. We take major life decisions without asking God’s will and when they don’t turn out the way we planned, we cry and sometimes blame God for not answering our prayers, whereas we did not inquire of him before making the move.

As Christians we must learn to totally depend on God for everything and in every area of our lives.

SCRIPTURE:

Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight (Proverbs 3:5-6) NIV

REFRESHING FOR THE DAY:

Only God knows the end of a matter from its beginning. Therefore, it is wisdom to lean on God for direction in all your ways.

God knows what is best for us. Our best plans for ourselves cannot compare to the least of God’s plans for us. So, choose God’s plan.

HOW TO LEAN ON JESUS

1.    Trust God and follow Him patiently, the reward is beyond whatever you can dream of.

2.    Resist the temptation to run ahead of God, He is never late and He makes all things beautiful in HIS own time.

NOTE THIS:

Only God knows the end of a matter from its beginning. Therefore, it is wisdom to lean on God for direction in all your ways.

RESPONSIBILITY:

Before you make any major move in life, cultivate the habit of inquiring of God first and waiting patiently to hear from him before moving.

PRAYER:

O God, help me to trust in you with all my heart and to inquire of and follow your leading in every area of my life in Jesus name, Amen (Go ahead and begin to pray)

PROPHETIC WORD:

Receive the grace to Lean on God and not your own understanding in every aspect of your life in Jesus name, Amen.
