Keep Me on the Potter’s Wheel (4)

Times Of Refreshing Daily Devotional

Date: Wednesday, 10 December 2025

Topic: Keep Me on the Potter’s Wheel (4)

Focus: The Potter Removes What Doesn’t Belong

🔥Theme: Surrendering to God’s Refining and Shaping Process

God is the Potter, and we are the clay. His desire is to shape our lives into vessels that reflect His purpose and glory. This theme invites us to surrender to His hands—even when the process feels slow, uncomfortable, or unclear. On the Potter’s wheel, God removes what doesn’t belong, restores what is broken, and forms us into something new. As long as we remain surrendered, His shaping continues and His character is formed in us.

📖 Key Verse:

“But the pot He was shaping from the clay was marred in his hands; so the potter formed it into another pot…” — Jeremiah 18:4

Devotional:

Before a potter can finish a vessel, he must remove small stones, bubbles, and rough spots hidden in the clay. If left inside, they will cause cracks later. So the potter gently works them out—piece by piece. God does the same in us. There are attitudes, habits, fears, and mindsets that cannot go into the future He is preparing. Instead of ignoring them, God lovingly removes them. This process may feel uncomfortable, but it is necessary for your strength and maturity.

📖 Scripture Reading:

• Jeremiah 18:4 — The potter reworked the clay as seemed best to him.
• Psalm 139:23–24 — “Search me, O God… remove anything that offends You.”
• John 15:2 — God prunes every branch so it will bear more fruit.

💧 Refreshing for the Day:

Jeremiah 18 shows that the Potter is committed to forming a vessel without flaws—not because He demands perfection, but because He desires purpose. Whatever God removes, He replaces with something better. If God is removing something, it’s because He’s preparing you for something greater. Stay Refreshed!

Note This:

🧱 What God removes today protects you from cracks tomorrow.

🛡️ Responsibility:

Pray: “Lord, take out anything that hinders Your work in me.”

🙏 Prayer:

Father, remove whatever does not honor You in my life. Shape me into a vessel that reflects Your character and purpose. In Jesus’ name, Amen!

🔥 Prophetic Declaration:

Everything that does not belong is leaving my life. God is preparing me for greater use. In Jesus’ name, Amen!
