IT’S FOR YOUR LIFTING
TIMES OF REFRESHING ONLINE DAILY DEVOTIONAL
DATE: MONDAY 22 FEBRUARY 2021
Anyone can trust God when things are going their way and when life is good. The real test is: will you trust God when things are shaky and unstable? Will you stay in faith when there’s uncertainty, and things you don’t understand begin to happen? Even at that, God is still on the throne, He’s still in charge, that shaking is not going to defeat you – it’s for your lifting. It is setting you up for what God is about to do in your life.
SCRIPTURE:
The LORD upholds all who fall and lifts up all who are bowed down, (Psalm 145:14) NIV
REFRESHING FOR THE DAY:
Many times, a great challenge precedes great favor.
If you could see what God is up to, you wouldn’t be stressed over the challenge, or complain over the setback. In Acts 8, Philip and other disciples were heavily oppressed in Jerusalem and they were pushed out. Philip headed to Samaria. The scripture says when he arrived at Samaria, he saw all kind of miracles: blind eyes were open, the crippled could walk, and great favor was on his life.
Note that, Philip arrived in Samaria not by choice, he was pushed out of Jerusalem. He could have been discouraged, but he understood this principle, he knew that God was still in control. The most interesting part of it that Samaria is where his ministry took off, Samaria is where he flourished and stepped in to a new level, (See Acts 8: 5-40).
So, beloved, quit being discouraged over who pushed you out, who didn’t want to be your friend. They might have pushed you out, but they didn’t stop your destiny. If Philip would have stayed in Jerusalem, he would have missed the fullness of his destiny. You may have gone through things that have caused you great pain and disappointment. You could be bitter, but that is not how your story ends. Like with Philip great joy is coming your way. Hear this, the enemy thought he was stopping you; he didn’t realize – he was setting you up. In the shaking God was shifting you. You may not be there yet, but stay encouraged, you are headed toward great joy. Stay Lifted!

Many times, a great challenge precedes great favor.
