INIQUITY: THE DEADLIEST ENEMY OF DESTINY

TIMES OF REFRESHING

ONLINE DAILY DEVOTIONAL by Obiorah Prince Emeka

DATE: THURSDAY 17 SEPTEMBER 2020

The rate and manner iniquity is celebrated this day is alarming and has called for urgent attention. People living in absolute depravity and show no remorse at all. Moral distortion and ethical decadence everywhere.

Iniquity is grossly unfair behavior, evil, wickedness, immorality; to mention a few, and all these vices are enemies of destiny. Iniquity vandalizes and punctures destiny. If the devil wants to strangle a person’s destiny, he inflicts and saturates his life with iniquity.

SCRIPTURE:

Reuben, you are my firstborn, My might and the beginning of my strength, The excellency of dignity and the excellency of power. Unstable as water, you shall not excel, Because you went up to your father’s bed; Then you defiled it(Genesis 49:3-4) NKJV

REFRESHING FOR THE DAY:

Iniquity corrupts the mind; and the loss of mind is loss of destiny.

From our anchor scripture, Reuben went in and slept with his father’s concubine Bilhah, and his father heard about it, and cursed him. He lost his destiny and the right as first son. Iniquity had destroyed destinies of many strong men in the bible. Samson’s destiny was swallowed by immorality (Judges 16:30). Ananias and his wife Sapphira’s life were cut short at the slab of envy and falsehood, (Acts 5:1-10).

Beloved, God does not approve of iniquity. Iniquity damages relationships between man and God. It is an enemy of our destiny. Let us sincerely confess our sins to God, ask Him for mercy and grace to avoid living in sin. The LORD is slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love, forgiving iniquity and transgression…(Numbers 14:18) ESV.
