IN YOUR SURRENDER TO JESUS, KEEP THE RIGHT MOTIVE

In as much as we’re encouraged to surrender the wheel of our life to Jesus, we also need to know that we must keep the right motive in doing so. One of the reasons people surrender everything to Jesus and yet their life remains the same and unaffected, is simply because they surrender to Him with the wrong motive. We don’t surrender to Jesus for what we will get from Him—that’s the wrong motive. But we surrender to Him for Who He is.
SCRIPTURE: You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart. (Jeremiah 29:13) ESV
REFRESHING FOR THE DAY: Beloved, when you seek Jesus for what you will get from Him, you may seek Him forever without finding Him. You can seek Jesus, and find Him only when you surrender to Him with all your heart. You don’t seek Him because you want a good job, you don’t seek Him because you want a life partner, or you want to be rich— no all these are wrong motives. For it is written, “to whom shall we go to, we shall go to Him who has the Word of eternal life” (John 6:68).
We seek and surrender to Jesus for He is the Lord; He has the Word of eternal life. We surrender to Him for relationship, with purity of heart and not for selfish interest nor personal gain. Stay Lifted!
NOTE THIS: When you seek Jesus for what you will get from Him, you may seek Him forever without finding Him.
RESPONSIBILITY: Surrender the wheel of your life to Jesus, keeping the right motive.
PRAYER: O LORD, give me the grace to seek and surrender to You with the right motive, in the name of Jesus’ Amen! (Go ahead and continue to pray)
PROPHETIC WORD: As you seek Jesus with the right motive, may you find Him, in the name of Jesus’ Amen!
