Devotional:

When I first thought about a king, I imagined someone seated on a magnificent throne, surrounded by power, honor, and authority. But the longer I walked with Jesus, the more I discovered that His kingdom is unlike any kingdom this world has ever known.

Jesus is indeed the King of kings, yet He chose to wear a towel before He wore a crown of glory. He knelt to wash the dusty feet of His disciples. He welcomed children others overlooked. He touched lepers everyone else avoided. He ate with sinners, comforted the brokenhearted, and gave His life for those who had nothing to offer Him in return.

This was the King I met along the way.

He never used His authority to intimidate people. Instead, He used it to heal, restore, forgive, and serve. His greatness was revealed not by demanding to be served, but by willingly serving others.

Refreshing for the Day:

As I followed Him, I realized that true leadership is not about position or recognition. It is about humility. Jesus taught me that the way up in His Kingdom is down. The greatest are those who gladly serve, and the strongest are those who lovingly stoop to lift others.

There were many times when my pride wanted recognition, appreciation, or applause. Yet Jesus quietly reminded me that if the King Himself could wash feet, then no act of service is beneath His followers. Every opportunity to serve became another opportunity to reflect His heart. Looking back, I realize that Jesus did not simply teach me to serve—He showed me what servant-hearted love looks like. The King I met along the way was clothed in humility.

And because I met Him, I learned that greatness in God’s Kingdom is measured not by how many people serve you, but by how faithfully you serve others. The heart of Jesus is revealed not only in His power but in His humility. The King who rules heaven chose to serve humanity with sacrificial love. Stay Refreshed!

Prayer:

Lord Jesus, thank You for showing me what true greatness looks like. Though You are the King of kings, You humbled Yourself to serve others with love and compassion. Forgive me for the times I have sought recognition instead of opportunities to serve. Give me a humble heart that gladly puts others before myself. May my words, my actions, and my attitude reflect Your servant heart. Teach me to love as You loved and to serve as You served. In Your precious name, Amen!

Prophetic Declaration:

I will walk in the humility of Christ. Pride will not rule my heart, for the Spirit of Jesus is shaping me into a servant who loves, gives, and lifts others. As I humble myself before God, He will strengthen me, use me for His glory, and make my life a blessing to many. I will reflect the heart of my King in all that I do. In Jesus’ name, Amen!
