HOW TO REMAIN DESPERATE FOR GOD

TIMES OF REFRESHING

ONLINE DAILY DEVOTIONAL by Obiorah Prince Emeka

DATE: SATURDAY 10 OCTOBER 2020

Yesterday, it was established that a person’s undisputable desperation for God determines his manifestation in life. And until a man is manifested by God, he will remain ordinary. As we saw in the life of Elisha in 2 Kings 2:13).

So, having known all these, let us look at how can a person remain desperate for God, so as to continue enjoying demonstrative manifestation of God in his life.

SCRIPTURE:

O God, you are my God; earnestly I seek you; my soul thirsts for you; my flesh faints for you, as in a dry and weary land where there is no water, (Psalm 63:1) ESV

REFRESHING FOR THE DAY:

Lack of a sense of desperation for God equals spiritual death.

Being desperate for more of God should be the cry of every believer. We should want our cup to overflow with God’s presence and existence. However, one who wants to remain desperate for and connected to God should;

1.    Long for His presence: Indeed, we should sincerely seek for His presence for we are most satisfied in His presence. Any wonder the Psalmist exclaimed in Psalm 42 “As the deer pants after the water brooks, so pants my soul after you, O God. My soul thirsts for God, for the living God: when shall I come and appear before God?”

2.    Long for His word: Long for God’s word. Feed from His Word and find nourishment. As you can hardly get by one day without food, don’t go a day without taking His Word in. Job 23:12 says, “I have kept the words of His mouth more than my necessary food.”

Beloved, be desperate for God today and experience Him respond to you in a wonderful and satisfying way. Seek for His hand in your life. Be sensitive to how He is leading you and working out the details of your life. Stay Lifted!

NOTE THIS:

Lack of a sense of desperation for God equals spiritual death.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Be desperate to know more of God, and seek His presence daily.

PRAYER:

O LORD, give me the grace to seek more of you, in Jesus name, Amen! (Go ahead and continue to pray)

PROPHETIC WORD:

May God manifest His presence in all that you do, in the name of Jesus, Amen.

BIBLE TEXTS: Psalm 63:1; 42, Job 23:12
