He Never Left My Story

Times Of Refreshing Daily Devotional

Date: Saturday, 15 August 2026

Topic: Looking Back, I See Jesus Everywhere (Day 7)

Focus: He Never Left My Story

🔥Theme:

Discovering the fingerprints of Christ in every season of life—even in the moments we did not recognize Him.

📖 Key Verse:
“And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” Matthew 28:20 (NIV)

Devotional:

Looking back over my life, I see many chapters I would never have chosen. There were beautiful seasons filled with laughter, answered prayers, open doors, and unexpected blessings. There were also chapters marked by waiting, disappointment, loss, confusion, and questions I could not answer. For a long time, I divided those seasons into two categories. The good seasons, where God was blessing me. And the difficult seasons, where I wondered where He was. But looking back, I know better now. Jesus was in both. He was there in the celebrations, receiving my gratitude. He was there in the valleys, holding me when I could barely pray. He was there when doors opened, and He was still there when doors closed. He was present in the prayers that were answered quickly and in the prayers whose answers I am still waiting to understand. There was never a chapter He abandoned.

📖 Scripture Reading:

  • Matthew 28:20“And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
  • Hebrews 13:5“Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.”
  • Psalm 139:9–10“Even there Your hand will guide me, Your right hand will hold me fast.”

💧 Refreshing for the Day:

The disciples on the road to Emmaus discovered this after their greatest disappointment. Jesus had been crucified, their expectations had collapsed, and they were walking away confused. Yet Jesus Himself came alongside them. They did not recognize Him at first, but He was there. That story now feels familiar. Sometimes I recognized Jesus immediately. Sometimes I recognized Him years later. And sometimes I am still learning to recognize what He was doing. But He was there.

Looking back, I see Him in the people He sent at the right time. I see Him in the doors He closed before I understood why. I see Him in the strength that appeared when mine was gone. I see Him in the waiting that matured me, the tears that softened me, and the prayers He answered differently from what I expected. I see His fingerprints everywhere. Not because everything that happened was good. not because every painful thing came from Him. But because nothing could prevent Him from remaining faithful in the middle of it. Stay Refreshed!

Note This:

🌿 Some chapters only reveal the fingerprints of Jesus when you look back. What felt like silence, delay, or confusion may one day become another testimony of His faithfulness.

🛡️ Responsibility:

Take time today to look back over your journey. Remember the victories, the disappointments, the closed doors, the unexpected blessings, and the seasons you thought you would never survive. Instead of asking only, “Why did this happen?” ask, “Where can I now see Jesus in this chapter?” Let remembrance become worship.

🙏 Prayer:

Heavenly Father, thank You for being present in every chapter of my life. Thank You for the seasons when I clearly saw Your hand and for the seasons when You remained faithful even though I could not understand what You were doing. Open my eyes to recognize Your fingerprints throughout my journey. Heal the memories that still carry pain, deepen my gratitude for the places where You carried me, and help me trust You with every page that is still unwritten. May I never forget that wherever life takes me, You will always be there. In Jesus’ name, Amen!

🌿 Prophetic Declaration:

Jesus Christ is present in every chapter of my story. I will not fear what lies ahead because I remember who carried me through what lies behind. The Lord will guide my steps, sustain me in every season, and fulfill His purpose for my life. My past will testify of His faithfulness, my present will reveal His grace, and my future will remain secure in His hands. Wherever my journey leads, I will never walk alone. In Jesus’ name, Amen!
