DROP IT AT THE FEET OF JESUS

TIMES OF REFRESHING DAILY DEVOTIONAL www.thefountspring.org

DATE: SUNDAY, 28 JULY 2024

Life can often feel overwhelming. We carry the weight of our responsibilities, worries, and fears like heavy backpacks strapped to our shoulders. These burdens can range from personal struggles, such as health issues, financial stress, or relational conflicts, to broader concerns about the state of the world. In these moments, we are reminded of the gentle invitation from Jesus: “Come to me.” He does not ask us to clean up our messes first or to come only when we feel worthy. Instead, He calls us just as we are—burdened, weary, and sometimes broken.

SCRIPTURE: “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” — Matthew 11:28-30 (NIV)

REFRESHING FOR THE DAY: So, what does it mean to drop it at the feet of Jesus? Dropping our burdens at the feet of Jesus means trusting Him with our deepest fears and anxieties. It involves a conscious decision to let go of our need to control and to surrender our challenges to His divine wisdom and power. This act of faith can be incredibly freeing, allowing us to experience His peace, which surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Stay Refreshed!

NOTE THIS: When you drop your burdens at the feet of Jesus, you engage in a divine exchange—your worries for His peace, your weaknesses for His strength, and your sorrows for His joy. It’s the best trade you’ll ever make.

RESPONSIBILITY: So, beloved, each time you feel overwhelmed, return to Jesus, and experience the peace and rest He promises.

PRAYER: Heavenly Father, we come before You today with hearts burdened by the cares of this world. We thank You for the invitation to lay our burdens at the feet of Jesus. Help us to trust You fully, to release our worries, and to rest in Your promise of peace and rest. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

PROPHETIC WORD: May you find comfort and rest as you drop your burdens at the feet of Jesus, trusting in His unfailing love and care. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
