Draw Me Near: The Cry of the Hungry Heart (4)

Times Of Refreshing Daily Devotional

Date: Wednesday, 9 July 2025

Topic: Draw Me Near: The Cry of the Hungry Heart (4)

Focus: Closer Than Before

🔥 Message:

There’s a cry rising in the hearts of those who are done with surface-level Christianity—a cry for more. More than routine. More than religion. A cry for intimacy with the living God. This devotional is for the hungry. For those whose hearts whisper in the quiet: “Draw me near, Lord.” Over the next 7 days, may your desire for closeness grow deeper. May distractions fall away. And may you find that the nearness of God isn’t just possible—it’s the very purpose of your life.

📖 Key Verse:

Psalm 27:4 (NIV): “One thing I ask from the Lord, this only do I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to gaze on the beauty of the Lord and to seek him in his temple.”

Devotional:
There’s always more in God. No matter how long you’ve walked with Him, there’s always a deeper place to go, a clearer voice to hear, a greater depth of love to receive. Spiritual hunger is holy—it keeps you moving forward, never settling for yesterday’s encounter. Paul, after decades of ministry, still cried out: “That I may know Him…” (Philippians 3:10). Not just facts about Him. Not even just past experiences. Paul wanted fresh intimacy—deeper revelation. He knew that drawing near was not a one-time moment—it was a lifelong pursuit.

📖 Scripture Reading:
Philippians 3:10 – “That I may know Him…”
Psalm 42:7 – “Deep calls unto deep…”
Hebrews 10:22 – “Let us draw near to God with a sincere heart…”

💧 Refreshing for the Day:
Beloved, God is inviting you closer. Into deeper waters. Into greater trust. Into new dimensions of His love and presence. So, don’t settle at the edge when He’s calling you in. The closer you come, the more you’ll find the One your soul longs for. Intimacy with God isn’t a destination—it’s a continual invitation to come closer. Stay Refreshed!

Note This:
The more you know Him, the more you’ll hunger for Him.

🛡️ Responsibility:
✅ Ask God today: “What is keeping me from going deeper?” Be honest. Surrender it. Then take one small step closer—whether through extended worship, prayer, or journaling with Him.

🙏 Prayer:
Lord, I don’t want to live on the edge of Your presence. I want to go deeper. Stir fresh hunger in me. Remove anything that keeps me from You. Draw me closer than I’ve ever been before. In Jesus’ name, Amen!

🔥 Prophetic Declaration:
I am not satisfied with shallow living! I am drawn into the deep things of God. I press in for more. I go from glory to glory. I am closer today than I was yesterday—and I’m just getting started! Alleluia!
