Draw Me Near: The Cry of the Hungry Heart (2)
Times Of Refreshing Daily Devotional
Date: Monday, 7 July 2025
Topic: Draw Me Near: The Cry of the Hungry Heart (2)
Focus: Show Me Your Glory
🔥 Message:
There’s a cry rising in the hearts of those who are done with surface-level Christianity—a cry for more. More than routine. More than religion. A cry for intimacy with the living God. This devotional is for the hungry. For those whose hearts whisper in the quiet: “Draw me near, Lord.” Over the next 7 days, may your desire for closeness grow deeper. May distractions fall away. And may you find that the nearness of God isn’t just possible—it’s the very purpose of your life.
📖 Key Verse:
Psalm 27:4 (NIV): “One thing I ask from the Lord, this only do I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to gaze on the beauty of the Lord and to seek him in his temple.”
Devotional:
Hunger for God always leads to a deeper cry: “Lord, I want to see You.” Moses had witnessed God’s power—the Red Sea parting, manna from heaven, miracles in the wilderness. But still, his heart longed for more. He said, “Now show me Your glory” (Exodus 33:18). Not just what You do—who You are. That is the mark of a heart drawn to God: it’s never satisfied with secondhand encounters. It doesn’t just want the blessings—it wants His presence. The glory of God is the weight of who He is—His holiness, love, majesty, and nearness revealed.
📖 Scripture Reading:
Exodus 33:18 – “Now show me Your glory.”
Exodus 33:11 – “The Lord would speak to Moses face to face…”
2 Corinthians 3:18 – “We… are being transformed into His image with ever-increasing glory…”
💧 Refreshing for the Day:
Beloved, God responded to Moses with a yes—not a full unveiling, but enough to sustain the journey. So, when you cry out for His glory, He will respond. Maybe not how you expect, but He will come. Because He reveals Himself to those who seek Him with holy hunger. God reveals Himself to those who want Him more than what He can give. Stay Refreshed!
✨ Note This:
Power satisfies the crowd—but only glory satisfies the hungry.
🛡️ Responsibility:
✅ Take time today to pray beyond your needs. Simply say, “Lord, show me who You are.” Wait in stillness. Journal anything you feel, see, or sense.
🙏 Prayer:
Father, I don’t want to just know about You—I want to know You. Let me behold Your glory. Show me Your heart, Your holiness, and Your beauty. Satisfy my hunger with more of You. In Jesus’ name, Amen!
🔥 Prophetic Declaration:
I am a glory-seeker! I desire more than signs—I long for the face of God. As I seek Him, He reveals Himself to me. I live in pursuit of His presence! Alleluia!
📖 Bible Texts:
Psalm 27:4, Exodus 33:11,18, 2 Cor. 3:18
