DON’T WALK AWAY FROM YOUR DREAM

There will be plenty of times where we would be tempted to walk away. Walk away from a dream, walk away from a troubled marriage, or difficult situation, while what we should do is to stay put, remain committed and work it out. Let’s study the account of Elisha.

SCRIPTURE: Elijah said to Elisha, “Stay here; the LORD has sent me to Bethel.” But Elisha said, “As surely as the LORD lives and as you live, I will not leave you.”… (2 Kings 2:2) NIV

REFRESHING FOR THE DAY: In 2 Kings chapter 2, the prophet Elijah was about to be taken up to heaven in a whirlwind. He had an assistant named Elisha. Elisha was like a son to him. Elisha took care of Elijah. Three times, Elijah tried to get rid of Elisha, he employed different ways to tricked him to go. But Elisha refused to walk away, and for each time he said to him, “As surely as the Lord lives, I will not leave you”. So, Elisha persisted, and his persistence paid him off. He received the double portion of his master Elijah.

Beloved you see, Elisha wouldn’t have seen the double portion if he had walked away. He was committed to see his dream come through, even when his master asked him to go. He stuck with him through thick and thin. So, as many times life would show you the reason to walk away from your dream, just like Elisha, don’t give up and you will see through the fullness of your destiny. Stay Lifted!

NOTE THIS: No matter how tough a dream could be and the trouble it may pose to fulfil it,don’t walk away, opt to work it out.

RESPONSIBILITY: Don’t walk away when it’s hard. Do the right thing even when the wrong thing is happening.

PRAYER: O LORD, give me the grace to remain committed to my dream. Cause me not to walk away even when it seems there’s no hope, in the name of Jesus’ Amen! (Go ahead and continue to pray)

PROPHETIC WORD: As you’ve refused to walk away from your dream, may God give you the reason to smile again, in the name of Jesus’ Amen!
