DON’T LET YOUR PAST SOUR YOUR FUTURE (2)
TIMES OF REFRESHING ONLINE DAILY DEVOTIONAL www.thefountspring.org
DATE: FRIDAY, 9 JULY 2021
Yesterday we started the run “Don’t let your past sour your future”, and we saw that life is progressive, we can’t do anything about the past, but we can do something to evade a sour future. We also learnt that how we started doesn’t matter, but it’s how we finish. So, today we continue.
SCRIPTURE: See, I will create new heavens and a new earth. The former things will not be remembered, nor will they come to mind. (Isaiah 65:17) NIV
REFRESHING FOR THE DAY: Life is full of things, we should focus on what we can change, not what we cannot change.
Our yesterday is gone, we can’t bring it back, but we can bring forth the future and make it happen. Experience has it that, one of the numerous reasons a lot of people don’t have joy and enthusiasm for life is owe to the fact that they let their past sour their future. They literally baggage every bad experience they had in the past and carry it along with them. Disappointments have its bag, regrets, offence, failure, hurts and pains have their own bag respectively. They gather all these bags together and drag them around everywhere they go.
But Beloved, life is too short to live that way, God did not create you to carry around all that baggage, they are holding you down, you must learn to let go. Forgive those that mistreated you, disappointed you; ask for forgiveness from those you have wronged, empty those bags of guilt and regret, and receive God’s mercy for a better future. Stay Lifted!
NOTE THIS: Life is full of things, we should focus on what we can change, not what we cannot change.
RESPONSIBILITY: Refuse to live offended, empty every bag of regrets, guilt, disappointments and forge onward to a new future.
PRAYER: O LORD, help my life. Give me the grace to forget the past and thrust into great future, in the name of Jesus’ Amen! (Go ahead and continue to pray)
PROPHETIC WORD: May your future be greater and better than your past, in the name of Jesus’ Amen!
