DANGERS OF THE WRONG QUEST

TIMES OF REFRESHING

ONLINE DAILY DEVOTIONAL by Obiorah Prince Emeka

DATE: THURSDAY 3 SEPTEMBER 2020

Yesterday, it was established that for one to live a fulfilled life on earth and end well in eternity, he has to set his quest right. We also looked at what one must do to set his quest right.

Today, we shall see the hazards and consequences of misplacing the pursuit for eternity to material gains, things that have no eternal value.

There is only one passcode into eternity, and that’s living and pursuing the right cause on earth. Wealth and riches are good, but they cannot guarantee one access into eternity.

SCRIPTURE:

Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. (Matthew 6:19-20) NIV

REFRESHING FOR THE DAY:

How you live in your life time will affect where you will spend eternity.

The greatest fulfilment one can experience is pursuing the things that have eternal value in life, and finally end well in eternity. Set your mind to this rare truth at all times. Do not be lured into believing otherwise.

CONSEQUENCES OF THE WRONG QUEST

1.    Generational failure and disappointment to God.

2.    Perpetual bondage in hell and eternal separation from God, (Luke 16:24).

3.    Loss of Heaven (Crown) at last. (2 Timothy 4:7)

Anyone who did not commit to set his quest right will end with terrible regrets in hell. May that never be your portion in Jesus’ name!

NOTE THIS:

How you live in your life time will affect where you will spend eternity.

RESPONSIBILITY:

Let the word of God justify your thoughts and every action you take in life.

PRAYER:

LORD, give me the grace not to quest vain and earthly desires, in Jesus’ name Amen! (Go ahead and continue to pray)

PROPHETIC WORD:

May the spirit of God empower you to remain steadfast in your quest for eternity, in the name of Jesus, Amen.
