Come To Me (4)
Times Of Refreshing Daily Devotional
Date: Wednesday, 27 August 2025
Topic: Come To Me (4)
Focus: Rest for the Soul
🔥 Message:
Life without God is heavy. Sin, shame, guilt, and striving weigh us down. But Jesus offers a better way—an invitation not to religion, but to relationship. His call, “Come to Me,” is the doorway to rest, healing, forgiveness, and freedom. Repentance is not about punishment—it’s about laying down the burdens we were never meant to carry. When we come to Jesus, He exchanges our heaviness for His light yoke, our brokenness for His wholeness, and our striving for His peace. This devotional series will walk through what it means to respond to that call—to turn from self and sin and find true rest in the Savior’s arms.
📖 Key Verse:
Matthew 11:28–30 (NIV): “Come to Me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”
Devotional:
So many are searching for rest—through vacations, entertainment, or even self-help methods. But the rest Jesus offers is far deeper. It’s not just physical; it’s soul rest. “…and you will find rest for your souls.” —Matthew 11:29 This is the kind of rest that stills the storm within. It is peace that doesn’t depend on circumstances, but flows from the presence of God. Isaiah described it this way: “In repentance and rest is your salvation, in quietness and trust is your strength.” —Isaiah 30:15
📖 Scripture Reading:
Matthew 11:29 – “You will find rest for your souls.”
Isaiah 30:15 – “In repentance and rest is your salvation…”
Psalm 62:1 – “Truly my soul finds rest in God…”
💧 Refreshing for the Day:
True rest comes not from escape, but from surrender. It comes when you stop striving to prove yourself, stop carrying the weight of guilt, and stop fighting battles in your own strength. It is found when you simply abide in Christ, trusting Him completely.
The world offers distraction; Jesus offers restoration. Only in Him will your soul find the deep rest it craves. Rest for your soul isn’t found in escape but in surrender to Jesus. Stay Refreshed!
✨ Note This:
🔥 Rest is not the absence of trouble—it’s the presence of Jesus.
🛡️ Responsibility:
✅ Pause three times today (morning, afternoon, evening) and breathe this prayer: “Lord, my soul rests in You.”
🙏 Prayer:
Lord, I bring my restless heart to You. Quiet my fears, calm my anxieties, and let my soul find its home in You. Be my rest today and forever. In Jesus’ name, Amen!
🔥 Prophetic Declaration:
My soul rests in Jesus! I will not be shaken by worry, weighed down by guilt, or worn out by striving. I live in His peace and strength. In Jesus’ name, Amen!
