Come To Me (3)
Times Of Refreshing Daily Devotional
Date: Tuesday, 26 August 2025
Topic: Come To Me (3)
Focus: Learning His Way
🔥 Message:
Life without God is heavy. Sin, shame, guilt, and striving weigh us down. But Jesus offers a better way—an invitation not to religion, but to relationship. His call, “Come to Me,” is the doorway to rest, healing, forgiveness, and freedom. Repentance is not about punishment—it’s about laying down the burdens we were never meant to carry. When we come to Jesus, He exchanges our heaviness for His light yoke, our brokenness for His wholeness, and our striving for His peace. This devotional series will walk through what it means to respond to that call—to turn from self and sin and find true rest in the Savior’s arms.
đź“– Key Verse:
Matthew 11:28–30 (NIV): “Come to Me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”
Devotional:
After inviting us to come and lay down our burdens, Jesus gives the next step: “Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.” — (Matthew 11:29) The Christian life isn’t just about letting go—it’s about taking up. Jesus doesn’t just remove our burdens; He replaces them with His way, His heart, and His rhythm. A yoke is a wooden harness that joins two animals together so they can walk in the same direction. By taking His yoke, we agree to walk with Him, to move at His pace, to learn His gentle and humble way.
đź“– Scripture Reading:
Matthew 11:29 – “Take My yoke and learn from Me…”
Jeremiah 6:16 – “Walk in it, and you will find rest for your souls.”
John 13:15 – “I have set you an example that you should do as I have done…”
đź’§ Refreshing for the Day:
True rest is not found in doing nothing—it’s found in walking with Jesus. His way is not harsh but healing. His leadership doesn’t crush—it restores. His training doesn’t drain—it strengthens. To repent is to turn from the world’s heavy yoke and accept the light, life-giving yoke of Christ. Rest is not found in escape but in walking with Jesus, step by step. Stay Refreshed!
✨ Note This:
🔥 The yoke of Jesus doesn’t weigh you down—it lifts you up.
