Come To Me (2)
Times Of Refreshing Daily Devotional
Date: Monday, 25 August 2025
Topic: Come To Me (2)
Focus: Laying Down Your Burdens
🔥 Message:
Life without God is heavy. Sin, shame, guilt, and striving weigh us down. But Jesus offers a better way—an invitation not to religion, but to relationship. His call, “Come to Me,” is the doorway to rest, healing, forgiveness, and freedom. Repentance is not about punishment—it’s about laying down the burdens we were never meant to carry. When we come to Jesus, He exchanges our heaviness for His light yoke, our brokenness for His wholeness, and our striving for His peace. This devotional series will walk through what it means to respond to that call—to turn from self and sin and find true rest in the Savior’s arms.
📖 Key Verse:
Matthew 11:28–30 (NIV): “Come to Me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”
Devotional:
Jesus not only calls us to come—He calls us to lay down what we’re carrying. Too often, we come to Him in prayer but still hold tightly to our worries, sins, and struggles. But His invitation is clear: “Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you.” —1 Peter 5:7
Repentance means release. To repent is to turn from the weight of sin and surrender it into His hands. To trust that His cross has already carried what you cannot. Think of the woman caught in adultery (John 8:10–11). She came to Jesus full of shame, expecting condemnation. But Jesus lifted the burden of guilt and set her free with the words: “Neither do I condemn you. Go now and leave your life of sin.”
📖 Scripture Reading:
Matthew 11:28 – “All you who are weary and burdened…”
1 Peter 5:7 – “Cast all your anxiety on Him…”
John 8:10–11 – “Neither do I condemn you…”
💧 Refreshing for the Day:
So, beloved, your burden may not be sin alone—it may be fear, regret, disappointment, or failure. Jesus is strong enough to carry it all. But He won’t force it out of your hands—you must lay it down. True rest comes when you stop carrying what Jesus already bore. Stay Refreshed!
✨ Note This:
🔥 You can’t walk in freedom while clutching your burdens—lay them at His feet.
🛡️ Responsibility:
✅ Write down 2–3 burdens you’ve been carrying. In prayer, name them aloud before God and release them into His hands.
🙏 Prayer:
Lord, I lay my burdens at Your feet today. Take my sin, my fears, and my worries. I release what I cannot carry, and I receive the peace You promised. In Jesus’ name, Amen!
🔥 Prophetic Declaration:
I will not carry what Jesus has already carried! My burdens are lifted, my shame is gone, and my soul walks free in His rest. In Jesus’ name, Amen!
