Come To Me (1)
Times Of Refreshing Daily Devotional
Date: Sunday, 24 August 2025
Topic: Come To Me (1)
Focus: The Invitation of Jesus
🔥 Message:
Life without God is heavy. Sin, shame, guilt, and striving weigh us down. But Jesus offers a better way—an invitation not to religion, but to relationship. His call, “Come to Me,” is the doorway to rest, healing, forgiveness, and freedom. Repentance is not about punishment—it’s about laying down the burdens we were never meant to carry. When we come to Jesus, He exchanges our heaviness for His light yoke, our brokenness for His wholeness, and our striving for His peace. This devotional series will walk through what it means to respond to that call—to turn from self and sin and find true rest in the Savior’s arms.
📖 Key Verse:
Matthew 11:28–30 (NIV): “Come to Me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”
Devotional:
The heart of the gospel is not rules, rituals, or religion—it is an invitation. Jesus doesn’t begin with, “Do better” or “Fix yourself first.” He simply says: “Come to Me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” —Matthew 11:28 This invitation is for everyone. For the sinner weighed down by guilt. For the believer tired of striving. For the brokenhearted longing for healing. For the restless soul searching for peace. The first step toward revival, repentance, or restoration is always to come. Not to a program. Not to a system. But to a Person—Jesus. He is the rest your soul craves. He doesn’t place heavier burdens on you; He lifts them.
📖 Scripture Reading:
Matthew 11:28 – “Come to Me…”
John 6:37 – “Whoever comes to Me I will never drive away.”
Isaiah 55:1 – “Come, all you who are thirsty…”
💧 Refreshing for the Day:
So, beloved, when you come to Him, you don’t bring perfection—you bring your weariness, your heaviness, your mess. And in exchange, He gives you rest, forgiveness, and peace. The question today is simple: Will you accept His invitation? The first step toward freedom is simply to come. Stay Refreshed!
✨ Note This:
Jesus doesn’t say, “Come when you’re strong.” He says, “Come as you are.”
🛡️ Responsibility:
✅ Take 5 quiet minutes today to respond to Jesus’ invitation. Whisper a simple prayer: “Lord, I come.” Bring Him your burdens one by one.
🙏 Prayer:
Jesus, I hear Your invitation and I come. I bring You my weariness, my heaviness, and my brokenness. Thank You for receiving me as I am. Give me Your rest today. In Jesus’ name, Amen!
🔥 Prophetic Declaration:
I come to Jesus, and I find rest. My burdens are lifted, my soul is refreshed, and my heart is restored. In Jesus’ name, Amen!

Topic: The Oil of the Secret Place (6)
Focus: The Cost of the Secret Place
🔥 Message:
The secret place is where the deepest intimacy with God is birthed. It is not found in the noise of the crowd, nor in the applause of men, but in the quiet corners where your heart meets His. In the secret place, roots grow deep, oil flows fresh, and strength is renewed. Jesus taught us that prayer is not a performance for others, but a personal encounter with the Father (Matthew 6:6). The secret place is not about location but posture—it is the hidden life of communion where Heaven pours oil into vessels that wait. This oil sustains you when the storms rage, empowers you when battles come, and prepares you for the Bridegroom’s arrival.
This series journey will take us back to the hidden place of prayer, teaching us to draw fresh oil for every season of life.
📖 Key Verse:
Matthew 6:6 (NIV) — “But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.”
Devotional:
The secret place is rich with oil, refuge, and intimacy—but it comes with a cost. Intimacy with God requires sacrifice. Moses climbed Mount Sinai and stayed forty days in God’s presence (Exodus 24:18). Jesus rose early while it was still dark to pray (Mark 1:35). Daniel prayed three times a day, even when it endangered his life (Daniel 6:10). Each one paid a price for the oil they carried. The cost of the secret place may be:
- Sacrificing sleep to rise early in prayer.
- Turning off distractions to give God undivided attention.
- Saying “no” to comfort so you can say “yes” to communion.
📖 Scripture Reading:
Exodus 24:18 – Moses stayed with God 40 days.
Mark 1:35 – Jesus rose early to pray.
Matthew 25:4 – The wise carried extra oil.
💧 Refreshing for the Day:
The wise virgins in Matthew 25 understood the cost. They carried extra oil, while the foolish did not. That extra oil represented preparation, sacrifice, and devotion. When the Bridegroom came, only those who paid the price were ready. The cost of intimacy is real, but so are the rewards. Heaven always responds to sacrifice. The oil of the secret place flows to those willing to pay the price of intimacy. Stay Refreshed!
✨ Note This:
🔥 Extra oil costs extra sacrifice.
🛡️ Responsibility:
✅ Identify one distraction or comfort you can lay down this week to give God more time in the secret place.
🙏 Prayer:
Lord, give me grace to pay the price of intimacy. Help me value Your presence above comfort, and to carry the extra oil that sustains me in every season. In Jesus’ name, Amen!
🔥 Prophetic Declaration:
I choose the secret place, no matter the cost! My oil will not run out, my lamp will not go dim, and I will be ready for the Bridegroom’s coming. In Jesus’ name, Amen
📖 Bible Texts:
Matthew 6:6; 25:4, Exodus 24:18, Mark 1:35
