Topic: When God Offends Your Expectations (3)
Focus: When God Allows What You Prayed Against

Theme:
Sometimes the hardest moments in faith are not when God is absent—but when He does something we did not expect. He delays when we thought He would act. He allows what we thought He would prevent. He answers differently than we prayed. These moments can quietly shake our expectations of who God is and how He works. This series explores the tension between expectation and reality—where disappointment meets faith, and where trust must grow deeper than understanding.

Key Verse:
“Blessed is anyone who does not stumble on account of me.” — Matthew 11:6

Devotional:
There are moments when we pray sincerely for God to prevent something—yet it still happens. We ask Him to stop the pain, close the door, remove the struggle, or change the outcome. When the opposite occurs, confusion can rise in our hearts. Why would God allow what we prayed against? Scripture shows that God sometimes permits what we do not understand because He is working toward a deeper purpose. Jesus prayed in Gethsemane that the cup might pass from Him. Yet the cup remained—and through it came redemption for the world.

Refreshing for the Day:
God does not always remove the difficulty. Sometimes He walks with us through it. What we see as loss, He may see as transformation. What we fear as failure may be the very place where His power is revealed most clearly. Faith grows when we trust God not only when He answers our prayers the way we hoped—but also when He leads us through a path we did not choose. God’s presence in the struggle can become the greatest answer to prayer. Stay Refreshed!

Note This:
Sometimes God answers your prayer not by removing the trial—but by meeting you inside it.
